Product Branding Designer, Bags & Accessories (Freelance)
Thirty Years is looking for a freelance Product Branding Designer to support upcoming product launches, licensed projects, and brand collaborations.
This role is focused on how branding comes to life on physical products, specifically bags and accessories. We are looking for someone who can take the Thirty Years brand, or the identity of a collaboration partner, and translate it into thoughtful, elevated product details.
This is not an email, social media, flyer, or general digital marketing design role.
What You’ll Work On
• Developing creative directions for licensed and co-branded bags and accessories
• Translating sports, fashion, fitness, entertainment, and lifestyle partnerships into elevated product concepts
• Exploring how two brand identities can live together cohesively on a physical product
• Developing logo placement, scale, lockups, color treatments, and branding systems
• Creating branded product details such as custom prints, patterns, color blocking, patches, embroidery, woven labels, straps, zipper pulls, charms, hardware, linings, and packaging
• Exploring multiple creative directions beyond simply placing a logo on an existing product
• Ensuring collaboration concepts still feel distinctly Thirty Years
• Preparing production-ready artwork, placement guides, color callouts, and factory handoff files
• Working within existing brand guidelines, licensed artwork restrictions, and production limitations
What We’re Looking For
• Strong experience in product branding, accessories, apparel graphics, footwear, licensed merchandise, or physical consumer products
• A strong understanding of handbags, accessories, fashion, and elevated product design
• Excellent taste and a strong eye for logo placement, scale, color, balance, and material application
• Experience developing co-branded or licensed product concepts
• Ability to think conceptually while also creating clear, production-ready design files
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Understanding of production methods such as embroidery, screen printing, woven labels, patches, hardware, charms, trims, and custom materials
• Ability to take feedback, iterate quickly, and present multiple thoughtful creative directions
• Strong communication and organizational skills
Portfolio Requirements
Please submit a portfolio that includes relevant physical product work.
Strong examples may include:
• Bags and accessories
• Apparel or footwear graphics
• Licensed sports or entertainment merchandise
• Brand collaborations
• Product branding systems
• Custom prints and patterns
• Patches, embroidery, hardware, trims, or packaging
Portfolios focused primarily on social media graphics, email design, websites, or general digital marketing materials will not be considered unless they also include substantial physical product work.
Engagement
This is a freelance, project-based role with the potential for ongoing work.
Location is flexible, but the designer must be available to collaborate with our Los Angeles-based team during reasonable working hours.
