At Thirty Years, we craft luxury casual wear and accessories designed for the long haul. Everything in our collection is built to last multiple washes with craftsmanship that holds up. We give that extra bit of care to each item, ensuring you can enjoy it for many seasons to come. Follow the tips here to keep your favorite pieces looking fresh and feeling new.
Cotton
This soft, breathable fabric is the perfect choice for everyday clothing, and we love using it to craft our wardrobe essentials. Caring for cotton and cotton blends is relatively easy.
- Machine wash the pieces with like colors.
- Use cold water and a gentle cycle to prevent shrinking.
- Air drying is best for maintaining the shape and softness of cotton clothes.
- Iron at a low temperature if you have to or use a steam iron.
Rayon
Rayon is a semi-synthetic fabric that’s also referred to as viscose. Keep the below tips in mind while washing and drying rayon clothes.
- Machine wash the pieces with other delicate items to prevent snagging.
- Use cold water and a gentle cycle, as too much heat or friction can make the fabric shrink or lose shape.
- Lay them flat or hang them on a line to dry.
- Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and any other harsh cleaning products.
Nylon
Nylon is a sturdy synthetic material that requires some specific care. However, the care instructions for our bags differ from our nylon clothing pieces.
For the Drift Puffer Tote:
- Machine wash your tote on the rinse cycle at the most gentle setting. Avoid hot water.
- Let your bag air dry. We don’t recommend putting it in the dryer, as it can damage the structure and fabric.
For the Rove Shoulder Bag:
- Spot clean only to remove stains and spills.
For general nylon clothes:
- Our nylon clothes should ideally be dry cleaned only to maintain their appearance and prevent permanent wrinkles or shrinkage.
- If washing at home, use cold water and air dry only.
Fleece
Fleece is a cozy synthetic fabric that we use for our women’s designer sweaters. It can lose its softness or pill if not taken care of properly.
- To machine wash, use cold water and a gentle cycle using a mild detergent.
- Turn the items inside out and wash them with other soft items to prevent snags and pilling.
- Tumble dry on a low setting to maintain its plushness.
- Air drying is always a safe option for fleece.
Linen
Linen is a lightweight, natural fabric that’s naturally durable. A little bit of care can go a long way towards protecting the shape and softness of your linen clothes.
- Linen is best washed by hand using cold water to prevent shrinkage.
- To wash in a machine, pop your linen items with like colors. Use cold water and a gentle cycle.
- Air drying is the most effective way to retain the softness and structure of linen.
- Avoid direct sunlight, excessive heat, and harsh chemicals.
